Bars in Rio de Janeiro – All the Info You Need
When it comes to bars in Rio de Janeiro you have almost a limitless number of options all over the city. The cheapest options being beer sold from the trunk of a car or the local cornerbar, to the exclusive lounge bars in Leblon that are a lot more expensive. The traditional bar (or boteco in Portuguese) in Rio is crowded, has no music and conversations are loud; A big variety of snack food is available, people drink ice cold draught beer (chope) or caipirinhas. In the simpler establishments you share big bottles of beer with your friends. I have listed a selection of bars in Rio below, for your convenience they are sorted by neighbourhoods.
