Hello everyone! This is the third weekly from Gringo-Rio.
Fully emerged in the development of the new site I have still tried to find the time to put together a newsletter for you guys with a bit of what could be of interest to you.
To start with, the new metrô station on line one called Uruguai was opened in mid March. After a few weeks it is easy to conclude that rush hour has gone from bad to worse. Even more people on a transport already hampered with frequent stops has made local buses a better choice on certain stretches at certain times. Contemplating what will happen when the connection to Barra de Tijuca is opened is a scarry thing. The engineers, planners and politicians involved will win no golden key to the city that is for sure!
For sports, the football season only starts on the 19th of April. On Sunday is the final final of the Rio cups. Maracanã will be full, perhaps for the last time until The World Cup starts?
