- Jazz Ahead meets Nublu NYC – The Underground Session
For jazz lovers, Jazz Ahead, a great jazz party, is now joining hands with Noblu – NYC’s cosmopolitan jazz club – to bring a great jazz night to Rio de Janeiro. Jazz groups Os Camelos and Praia Futuro are the main attractions but there will also be DJs spinning some good music for the night. Prices are now R$50 and you can buy tickets here.

- Festival do Rio – Rio International Film Festival
Rio International Film Festival is Latin America’s largest film festival. It presents over 300 films from all over the world every year, with emphasis on the most recent Brazilian and Latin American productions. They have a lot of movies, workshops and lectures. Mansão Botafogo (Villa Botafogo) is hosting another big edition of Rio Fashion Day with the 80 best fashion brands from Rio. As usual, the gourmet terrace brings yet another innovation with the presence of the 3rd Hamburger and Craft Beer Festival. - Feijoada at Portela
Portela is one of the oldest and most respected samba schools in Rio. They have this very traditional feijoada, a typical Brazilian dish, at their samba court and they’re offering it this month. Their veteran musicians (Velha Guarda) will be playing samba and their bateria (the drum band) will also be there to make your feet move. The feijoada itself is very tasty and popular. You can buy the ticket online for the entrance and if you decide to eat the feijoada, you can pay for it on spot.
October 9 to October 14:
RioMarket, as part of the Festival do Rio, is where the audiovisual industry meets, to exchange knowledge between renowned professionals, new producers and reputed companies. A great place for discovering new business opportunities. Seminars, workshops, masterclasses, roundtable discussions and meetings will be happening at the Gran Meliá Nacional Hotel in São Conrado. October 11 to October 15:
Mondial de La Bière is a worldly famous unique festival of beer tasting. It represents the stepping-stone for various foreign breweries. The last edition held in Brazil in June 2015 attracted more than 150.000 people, about 300 craft breweries, offering 837 types of beer. The festival also has events such as The Public Beer Contest and the Beer Workshop. Attractions also include live music and talk shows. Entrance price starting at R$60 and you can buy tickets here. October 12 to October 14:
The biggest electronic music festival in the world, Ultra Music Festival, is coming to Brasil for a three-day festival and this is going to be huge. The venue for the festival is the Sambodrame, the stadium where the official carnival parades of Rio de Janeiro take place. For the Line-Up, they’re expecting more than 30 big names from the electronic scene. Alok, Alesso, The Martinez Brothers, Nicky Romero and Skazi are already confirmed for the festival. The price of a 3-day pass is raging from R$474 to R$1.848, and the one-day pass is raging from R$198 to R$568.

This event is a National Coxinha Festival and is promising to reunite the best coxinhas of Rio de Janeiro in just one place. They will also have live music, handmade burgers and craft beer.
