November is bringing to Rio de Janeiro a great variety of events — we are sure you are going to find something cool for you to do in Rio this month! As usual, street fairs are happening all over the month and nightlife is busy! Check the list below and have fun in Rio de Janeiro during the month of November.
Armazém do Campo map in Lapa invites you to a Latin America party with typical food and drinks and live music with salsa and cumbia. The event starts at 7pm but the live music is scheduled to start at 10pm.
At the rooftop of IED map in Urca there will be a happy hour event with live jazz and Brazilian music. The view is great and it’s a free event. They will have promotional prices for gin and beer during the first 3 hours of the event, starting at 5pm. The event ends at 10pm and you can enjoy the night at the famous ‘mureta da Urca’ (Google it! People hang out on the sidewalks at Urca, drinking and chatting all night long. There’s usually a big crowd there.)
- Jazz at Parque das Ruínas
Enjoy great jazz music at Parque das Ruínas map in Santa Teresa. The venue holds only 300 people, so buy your entrance earlier on Rua Murtinho Nobre, 169 – Santa Teresa or contact + 55 21 98644-8991 on WhatsApp. The entrance costs R$30. The event starts at 6pm.
- PedeTeresa Samba
This great ‘roda de samba’ in Centro is celebrating 6 years of the PedeTeresa group. It’s a free street party at Praça Tiradentes map where lots of locals usually attend. Starting at 6pm.
- Circuito Interno Bhering
Circuito Interno Bhering is like a big fair with everything you can think of: fashion brands, shops, food, drinks and music — tons of attractions spread over six floors of an old building. The venue for this is the old Bhering Factory, in Santo Cristo neighborhood, near Centro (Rua Orestes, 28 map). A good choice to spend a relaxed Saturday afternoon. From 1pm to 8pm. Entrance: R$10.
The Lavradio Fair — Feira Rio Antigo — is a popular street market in Rio de Janeiro that takes place on the first Saturday of every month in the Lavradio Street map, Centro. It’s the perfect place to find good jewelry, cheap and nice clothing, antique shops and more.
- Tiradentes Cultural
Tiradentes Cultural is an initiative of cultural spaces located around Praça Tiradentes to bring together good food, drinks, dance, music, book exchange and more. Free event. From 1pm to 8pm. Venue: Praça Tiradentes map.
- Coffee Festival
Exhibitors, producers, roasters, coffee shops and dozens of coffee products are joined together for this event at Museu da República map. On November 2nd and 3rd, from 10am until 6pm.
- Feira Hippie
The Hippie Fair occurs every Sunday at General Osório map in Ipanema. It starts around 10am and goes on until the early evening. There is art, jewelry, bags, furniture, hammocks, food from Bahia and a lot more. The perfect pastime before or after the beach on a Sunday.
- Vinyl Record Fair
This is a great opportunity if you are a vinyl collector. This fair aims to sell vinyl discs, but they will also have art, music and fashion all in the same place. The venue for this is Centro de Artes UFF in Niterói map. If you are coming from Rio, you can use bus lines 709 (leaves from Centro), 740 (leaves from Copacabana) or 775 (leaves from Gávea).
- The Glow Party!
Samba and free caipirinhas until midnight! Also, random free tequila shots all night long! This is going to be a great party! Face painting, dark lights and cheap drinks. The venue for this event, New Mariuzinn, is a very traditional night club in Rio. Two DJs will be also playing lots of House, Hip-hop, Reggaeton, Funk and more. Buy tickets online here. Prices are R$60 at the door (If you put your name on their Facebook event and get there until midnight, you only pay R$30.)
- Kevin O-Chris DVD concert
If you really like carioca funk music, you will absolutely love this event. Funk sensation Kevin O-Chris is doing a concert in Barra da Tijuca to record his first live DVD. He invited lots of other Brazilian artists to records songs with him, so expect great attractions besides Kevin. Among the famous artists being part of the project are Wesley Safadão, Ferrugem, Pocah, Mc Jottapê and many more. Buy tickets online here. Venue: Espaço Hall map. Doors open at 11pm.
- Tai Chi & Qi Gong Class
One-hour class aiming the theoretical and practical instruction for initiation, development and enhancement of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan (Yang Zhenduo System) and various forms of Qi Gong (Chi Kung). More information on Facebook.
- MUG Party
MUG Party + Que Pena Amor. It’s like a carnival party with fun music and party. The entrance is R$10 and you can buy it online here.
Situated across the bay of Guanabara, you’ll find the city of Niterói. Starting from Ipanema this bike tour will take you to Copacabana beach, Botafogo and downtown Rio – with several stops on the way. In Rio’s Center, you’ll take a ferry, while bringing your bike on board as well, and will go to Niterói, where you’ll visit lots of beautiful spots. Price: R$95.
Street party with ‘roda de samba’ where locals go! The event starts at 3pm with background music and the live samba starts at 4pm. Join if you enjoy samba, cold beer, and a lovely street fair with local food, fashion, crafts and much more. Free event. Venue: Praça do Russel – Glória map.
Sunset Party at Morro da Urca with feijoada, great drinks, DJs and live music for you to have fun all day long. The event starts at 3pm with feijoada and premium open bar until 6pm. Buy tickets here – they will grant you access to the cable car to get you to Morro da Urca.
Outdoor yoga class open to the public at Praça Paris map in Glória. Bring your yoga mat and join the class. They don’t have a price for it, you give the teacher what you feel like. Time of the event: 9am.
Mirante do Avrão map in Vidigal is famous for its good parties combining feijoada (typical Brazilian food) and live samba music. Both gringos and locals use to love it! The event starts at 3pm and the venue is limited to 400 people. Get there early to enjoy the view, the sunset and the food. Live samba music with Guto Rocha, Batucavidi, Grupo Bom Gosto and DJ Bruno Songz playing carioca funk music. Funk and Samba dancers will also be there for a show. Tickets are ranging from R$40 (entrance to the event only) to R$80 (event + feijoada + 1 caipirinha). You can buy it here. To get there, vans and motorcycle taxi services will be available at Vidigal entrance.
- Carioca Medieval Fair
This Medieval Fair promises to bring the old days back for geeks and history lovers. Lectures and workshops, medieval music and dance, swordplay, medieval games, craft beer and a lot more. This is a free event happening during November 15th, 16th and 17th. Venue: Arena Socioambiental, Glória map. You can check all schedules at their Facebook event.
- Vai Malandra – O Baile
Again at Mirante do Avrão map in Vidigal, this party is going to be awesome! If you want to experience a true carioca funk dance party, this is the right place. The venue is safe and has an incredible view of Rio de Janeiro and the ocean. The first hour of the event offers free beer, gin or caipirinha. The event starts at 11pm and you can buy tickets here.
One of Rio de Janeiro’s best-kept secrets is the island of Paquetá, off the coast in the bay of Guanabara. A small place where cars are not allowed, and where bicycles rule. With this tour, you’ll hop on a bike in Ipanema to set off in the direction of Paquetá, an old refuge for bohemian Cariocas. Price: R$95.
- Lovelands Festival
A Caipirinha event hosted by Caminhos Language Centre, a Brazilian Portuguese language school in Rio. This is an informal party on the sidewalks, where they offer really good caipirinha for only R$5 and you can meet other foreigners in Brazil, as well as local friends who stop by. The atmosphere is always great, with free snacks available and Brazilian music playing. Starts at 5pm but people usually start to arrive around 6:30pm. Rua Farme de Amoedo, 135 – Ipanema.
FestRioBeer is a gastronomy and music festival that brings to Rio de Janeiro more than 50 types of craft beers from different Brazilian breweries. They will also have a food court with food trucks, stalls and various exhibitors. They will bring together brewers and representatives of award-winning craft beers from all over Brazil, as well as offering a music festival with more than 3 live bands performing on their stage. Rio de Janeiro is famous for its nature, and Tijuca Forest is one of the best places to visit to see the rich nature the city has to offer. From great hikes to refreshing waterfalls to awesome views, it is all there in one of the biggest urban forests in the world. Price: R$95.

Affordable vegan cuisine and products, such as fashion, art and cosmetics free of animal suffering. This event will be donating part of its income to an animal advocacy organization. Free entrance and pet-friendly. Location: Fundição Progresso, Lapa map. From 12pm until 18pm.
‘Roda de samba’ at Praça do Lido map in Copacabana. The event is also hosting a street fair with food, drinks, fashion, jewelry and other stands.
- Furdunço do Coreto
Baródromo is a hyped bar in Lapa that usually hosts great parties. For this one, they will have live carnival music with ‘blocos de carnaval’ and 2 for 1 draught beers. Entrance price is R$15 if you put your name on their Facebook event.
This festival brings to Rio de Janeiro music, movies, workshops, lectures, poetry and more. From November 29th to December 1st. The venue and attractions for this event are yet to be disclosed. Keep an eye on their website for further information.
