Brazil will be all involved with the World Cup in June, so expect a lot of parties and screenings of the games all around the city of Rio de Janeiro. June is also time for Festa Juninas — traditional parties in Brazil that celebrate the country life. So, no matter what your preferences are, June is a busy month, with lots of fun and great events in Rio de Janeiro.
The Lavradio Fair — Feira Rio Antigo — is a popular street market in Rio de Janeiro that takes place on the first Saturday of every month in the Lavradio Street, Centro. It’s the perfect place to find good jewelry, cheap and nice clothing, antique shops and more.
- Tiradentes Cultural
A Festa Junina party that all locals go to. Traditional food, drinks, dance, music and more. Live music with a forró band and DJs at night. Free entrance. From 1pm to 8pm. Venue: Praça Tiradentes map.
This party has become one of the famous parties in Rio lately. It happens every Sunday and it’s the right place for a fun afternoon with lots of beautiful people. Take your sunglasses and a cold beer and enjoy this “very carioca” party! Tickets available here. Venue: Lagoon. Starting at 3pm.

- Festa Trip
A great party at Pura Vida Hostel that will bring together people and music form all over the world. During the party: flash tattoos, artisanal food, video game, glitter, cachaça and paçoca for free. From 9pm to 4am. Price: R$40.
- Pois era noite de São João
A traditional Festa Junina party, which celebrates the country life and traditions. There will be lots of traditional food, dance, music, clothing and games. If you have never been to a Festa Junina party, this is a great opportunity to get to know this awesome party in Brazil. From 1pm to 10pm. Free entrance. Venue: Beco da Sardinha in Centro map.
- Festival da Alegria FM O Dia
FM O Dia is the biggest radio station in Rio de Janeiro, playing mostly carioca funk music and pagode. Their parties usually bring together lots and lots of people. This time, for the main attractions, singers like Anitta, Thiaguinho, Wesley Safadão and Ferrugem are reuniting at Praça da Apoteose on June 10th. The gate will be opened at 12pm and the concerts start at 1:30pm. The event ends at 23pm. Tickets ranging from R$25 to R$500 can be bought here.

Join the locals for the World Cup games in a big arena at Morro da Urca and watch the game while enjoying a beautiful view of Rio. For the first round of games, Arena Morro da Urca will have events during the 17th, 22nd and 27th of June, screening the games where Brazil national team is playing. - Bar DuZé da Copa
Another great place to watch the games of the World Cup while having fun in a great party. Bar DuZé will have a big screen for the match and live music with famous Brazilian bands, such as Sorriso Maroto, Jeito Moleque and The Funk. Venue: Museu de Arte Moderna (MAM) in Flamengo map. Prices starting at R$60.
- Festival de Inverno do Rio
Rio’s Winter Festival, from June 20th until June 22nd. Three days of this music festival with live music, with Marília Mendonça, Maiara & Maraísa, Kevinho, Livinho, Emicida, Frejat and more. Tickets ranging from R$55 to R$220 can be bought here.
- Make Music
Created in France and for the first time in Brazil, Make Music is a free celebration of music around the world. Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part, it’s all free and open to the public. Happening in Niterói, the festival promisses 12 hours of music non stop, starting at 10am. This event is for those who like rock ‘n’ roll and motorcycles. During the last weekend of June, on the 29th and 30th and also on July 1st, ‘Terreirão do Samba’ in Centro map will be a meeting point for bikers all around Rio de Janeiro.
