Good Day Everyone! The good weather is gone, it looks like we will have rain and thunder for the next week or so.
Football: All three Rio teams in the first division won lst round. On Sunday the 31st Botafogo play Santos in Maracanã, kick-off 16h. In the 2nd division Vasco receive Avaí tomorrow Saturday the 30th in São Januário stadium, kick-off 16:10h.
Public transport: The buses that normally would run on Rua Visconde de Pirajá are temporarily running on the beach avenue Vieira Souto. The introduction of the exclusive BRS lanes in Botafogo have initially created some problems. The tearing down of the perimetral highway will continue to make traffic complicated in the centre of Rio.
Nightlife: The best nightlife guide in English is The Rio Times Nightlife Guide, just click the link.
Fruits of the week: In the Rio winter fruits like mangos, pears, plums apples and strawberries are often cheap and tasty.
Exhibitions: CCBB (Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil) are celebrating their 25th anniversary with a large Salvador Dali exhibition. Starting today on the 30th of May and ending 4 months later on the 22nd of September. The address is Rua Primeiro de Março 66 Centro, open Wednesday until Monday 9h/21h (closed on Tuesdays). There is an exhibition of street-art in Caixa Cultural in Centro. Banksy, Jef Aerosol and Nunca are artists on exhibit. Different styles and techniques are explained. It is open Tue to Sunday 10h until 21h, the end date is the 12th of October. Caixa Cultural is located on Avenida Almirante Barroso 25 in Centro.
