Hello everyone! This is the fourth weekly from Gringo-Rio. One day late, but here it is.
It is Easter and the city is quite empty. Many Brazilian tourists, mainly from São Paulo, are in town.
After chatting with some friends of mine that are working with tourism I came across a quite interesting aspect of The World Cup. They all said that the last 10 months or so have seen a huge drop in number of clients, most of them contributed this to that people have put off to travel to Rio because of the World Cup. I don’t know if it is true but it is easy to see how few gringos are around compared to last year at this time.
For sports, the football season finally starts today Saturday. Fluminense start out in Maracanã against Figueirense today, kick off is 18:30.
