Green Day is coming to Rio with their Revolution Radio Tour this November. The American punk rock band is going to perform in four different cities in Brazil and is landing in Rio de Janeiro on November 1st for a big concert in Barra. Prices ranging from R$110 to R$560. The most popular among the many street makets in Rio, the Lavradio Fair in Lapa happens on the first Saturday of every month. It’s the perfect place to buy clothes, antique CDs and vinyls, jewelry and even furniture. Cariocas wait for this fair eagerly and organizers expect 15,000 to 20,000 people every month, so be prepared for a large crowd. The Lavradio street is in Lapa, so you can enjoy the rest of the day going to a restaurant or bar after your shopping spree.
Festeja is a huge popular Sertanejo party in Brazil. They always bring the biggest and hottest names in the Brazilian musical scene to their festivals. For this time in Rio, we’ll have performers like Marília Mendonça, Maiara & Maraisa, Dennis DJ and Pablo Vittar, among others, in the Line Up. The event is taking place in the Olympic Park in Barra. - Botafogo vs Fluminense – Football Game
In Rio, we call this game a “classic” — two of the biggest football teams in Rio against each other for the National championship. The venue for this game is Engenhão, the Olympic Stadium map. Tickets are not being sold yet, but just keep an eye on their official website (Botafogo and Fluminense) and you can easily find information about the tickets in the week of the game.
This great event is the perfect mix of samba and feijoada. It is one of the typical carioca events that is more likely that locals attend other than foreigners. So, if you want to have a true carioca experience, this is the place for you. You can buy the tickets beforehand at Sushi do PC map for R$20 or R$40 with feijoada included. If you go directly there without a ticket, the prices are R$40 for the event and R$25 for the feijoada alone. Every Sunday Fernanda Koba, a yoga instructor, offers an outdoor yoga class at the MAM Museum map in Aterro do Flamengo. The class is open to all public, you just need to bring water, comfortable clothes and a yoga mat or rug. They work with three types of prices, depending on how much a person can spend: R$10 (if you’re tight on money), R$15 (if you’re doing ok) or R$20 (if you have enough to spare). You don’t need to sign up, just show for the class at 10am.
Madeleine Peyroux and her trio are giving a concert in Rio on November 6th. They’re also doing an extra session on November 7th. Pretinho da Serrinha is a famous samba musician and he’ll be leading this event, where he will be welcoming other great names like Maria Rita, Jorge Aragão and Roberta Sá for a good night of ‘roda de samba’. Be prepared to dance a lot as this event will reunite the best of carioca samba! Buy tickets online or at one of the local stores in this list.
The Latin American singer is famous all around the world with his singles ‘Felices Los 4’, ‘Chanteje’, ‘Sin Contrato’ and ‘Borró Cassette’. Maluma is now coming to Rio for the World Tour of his new album ‘Pretty Boy Dirty Boy’. He is going to perform at Vivo Rio map, with tickets ranging from R$100 to R$440. Tickets here.
Ayrton Senna was a Formula One driver who won three world championships between 1988 and 1991. He was leading a race in San Marino when he suffered a serious accident and died, being just 34 years old. He is considered a legend and a national idol in Brazil. A musical about his life comes to Theatro Riachuelo Rio for three days in November: 10th, 11th and 12th. You can buy the tickets here, prices from R$25 to R$150.
- Modinha! A Festa – Night Out
Modinha is a party that will mix every music genre for an exciting night. Pop, rock, funk, samba, axé, hip-hop, everything together to celebrate the 7 years of Modinha. Bloco Fogo & Paixão is also bringing carnival into the mix and is promising to shake everyone up! This time the event is going to use Casa do Porto map as a venue and people will have the incredible view of the Guanabara Bay as their wallpaper for the night. Check this website for tickets. Jazz party with an Afro-Cuban vibe, honoring Dizzy Gillespie. The party is happening in Jardim Botânico and you can buy tickets in advance here.
Even though the official sign up for this run is already over, you still can join as a pipoca — this is how they call the people who run independently, without being officially registered. You don’t need to be a pro athlete to join this run — you can set your own pace and run a 5k or 10k marathon. The event is in Glória.
This wine and beer festival is going to reunite national producers, sellers and local stores. They will be selling and displaying craft beer and wine and there’s also going to be public tastings. The event happens from November 17th to Nobember 20th, from 2pm to 10pm and they’re going to have live music as well. The venue for this festival is Praça Dom Orione map in the neighborhood of São Francisco, in Niterói. If you coming from Rio, just take bus 740D in Copacabana or 775 in Botafogo and you can go directly there.
People are trying to be healthier and organic products are a great option for that. In this fair, you will be able to buy organic products directly from the producer, guaranteeing fresh food and good quality. November 18th and 19th, from 8am to 2pm at Hortifruti parking lot in Leblon map.
- VillaMix – Music Festival
Just like Festeja, this is a huge music festival in Brazil. It started as a Sertanejo festival, but it transformed into one of biggest events in the country, with international singers, pop divas and funk attractions joining past editions. This time in Rio, VillaMix is bringing DJ Alok, Ludmilla, Wesley Safadão and many others. There are different types of tickets and you can find all of them on their official website. Tickets: R$60 to R$900. Venue: Olympic Park map. Time: 12pm.
Pop singer Bruno Mars is bringing his 24K Magic World Tour to Rio de Janeiro. The venue for this place is no less than the famous Sambódromo. Prices for this concert are a bit expensive, going from R$290 to R$580. The first night is already sold out, but there are still tickets avaiable for the extra night on November 19th.
Spend your Sunday working out with lots of people in this great event in Leme. Starting at 8:30am with a delicious breakfast for everyone, the organizers are planning a whole day of activities and trainning for you to get fit. The schedule includes Zumba and Muay Thai classes, functional training and a Taí Chi Chuan session. - Eu, Você, o Mar & Ela – Boat Party
This Boat Party is offering open bar and barbecue for everyone. Tickets are now R$100 as the “first batch” is still avaiable, but it can get higher. DJs will be playing all genres of music as the boat leaves Marina da Glória at 1pm and return at 6pm. You will be stopping at great beaches where people can swim and enjoy the day.
