Museums in Rio

There are many museums in Rio de Janeiro and a reason to that is that until 1960 it was the capital of Brazil; the title was lost but the national museums stayed. I´m gonna give you all the addresses and specific info about the particular museums, first I will discuss some general issues.

Discounts & Open Hours
Quite a few museums have entrance on Sundays for free. Otherwise if you present a student card at the entrance you will many times get half the price. Children (in general under 6 or 7 years of age) enter for free. They are almost all open the whole week except Mondays.

Different Types of Museums
In order to facilitate I have ordered all the museums into different sub sections. Clicking on the respective link will take you to that category. First there is Rio Art Museums , second is Rio History Museums and third is Other Museums of Rio . I hope the info will be helpful to you. If you have any suggestions on other museums just let me know. On your left you have a "Contact Me" button.
