During the entire month of July, CCBB Museum map brings to Rio an exhibition about Football. It addresses the sport as part of the history and memory of the Brazilians and also brings interactivity with button football table, foosball and more. Free event. You can visit the exhibition from 9am until 9pm.

Brazil is still going strong for the World Cup championship and the next game is against Mexico on July 2nd. Praça Mauá is hosting the biggest free party in Rio with a big screen to watch the game followed with live music. Best way to get there is by metro. Go to Uruguaiana station and walk 10 minutes to get to Praça Mauá.
The hike to Pedra da Gávea, located in the middle of Tijuca Forest, is one of the most popular ones in Rio de Janeiro. Going up the 833 meter high mountain is a challenge, but those who succeed receive a reward with maybe the most spectacular view of the city. Traditional samba event in the neighbohood of Cosme Velho. From 5pm until midnight. Price: R$35.
A Caipirinha event hosted by Caminhos Language Centre. This is an informal party on the sidewalks, where they offer really good caipirinha for only R$5 and you can meet other foreigners in Brazil, as well as local friends who stop by. The atmosphere is always great, with free snacks available and Brazilian music playing. Starts at 5pm but people usually start to arrive around 6:30pm.
- Encontro de Blocos
If you missed Carnival, here’s a good change to experience Rio’s greatest party in the middle of July. Biergarten Rio map is promoting a great free event bringing together three big ‘blocos de carnaval’, Carrossel de Emoções, Bloco Escangalha and Bloco Areia. Their Food Park is also promising amazing options of craft beer and food options for you.
One of Rio de Janeiro’s best-kept secrets is the island of Paquetá, off the coast in the bay of Guanabara. A small place where cars are not allowed, and where bicycles rule. With this tour, you’ll hop on a bike in Ipanema to set off in the direction of Paquetá, an old refuge for bohemian Cariocas. Price: R$50.
- Feijoada do Mirante

- Soul + Black – Winter Festival

For the last day of the Winter Festival, girls rule at Marina da Glória. Maiara & Maraisa and Marília Mendonça bring the country music to Rio promising a gret evening. Time: starting at 4pm. Price: From R$66 to R$286. Tickets can be bought here.
Situated across the bay of Guanabara, you’ll find the city of Niterói. Starting from Ipanema this bike tour will take you to Copacabana beach, Botafogo and downtown Rio – with several stops on the way. In Rio’s Center you’ll take a ferry, while bringing your bike on board as well, and will go to Niterói, where you’ll visit lots of beautiful spots. Price: R$50.
