When I’m writing this it is Thursday, today has been an absolutely beautiful day. Blue skies and clean, clear air. Let’s hope it continues over the weekend.
Unfortunately it seems like the violent robberies just continue. Everyone, be careful out there! One of the reasons for the rise in crime are the empty coffers of the Rio Prefeitura, promises of more police are therefor sadly nothing more than just promises. It comes as no real surprise that the sailing competitions during the Olympics next year will be moved, I honestly have not met one Carioca that ever believed they would clean it up. The most disgusting bit is that the pure sewage that is pumped up is going to both Copacabana and Ipanema where so many people swim, I’m pretty sure that if you employed a neutral research firm they would deem both beaches as unsuitable for bathing most of the year.
On Saturday the 23rd Vasco receive Internacional in the São Januário stadium, kick-off at 18h30. On Sunday the 24th Fluminense play Corinthians in Maracanã, kick-off is 16h.
The next one or two years traffic in the center of Rio will be complicated during rush hours, big constructions in the port area are the main reasons. Works on Avenida Brazil will make transport to Ilha Grande and Parati complicated during rush hours.
